IOWA SAUCERS FLASHING LIGHTS - #1

DUBUQUE -- The witness reports, "What we saw was clearly a UFO
with light blue flashing lights at 7:15 PM, on January 3, 2002.
There were four of us in the car driving on Highway 61, when we
saw the UFO come toward us as we drove along. It seemed to
change directions and go the way we were going for a few
seconds. It was only 50 feet above us so we got a good look. It
was saucer-shaped with a dome-like top. It acted like it wanted
us to stop the car. The flashing lights were very bright, as
they would flash on for a second, go off for about 1 and a half
to 2 seconds, and then back on again. The UFO was saucer-shaped
and had a dome-shaped top. The saucer had windows, 4, or 5 on
the side we could clearly see. The light seemed to be coming
out of these windows. Finally it started flying away from us
and it disappeared, so we thought. Then I saw the light blue
lights again in my rearview mirror, which followed us ! for
about six miles. The lights were not getting further away from
us as we drove on. By the time we drove into the city, it was
gone. We know what we saw and no one's going to tell us any
different.

IOWA SAUCERS FLASHING LIGHTS - #2

MARION -- At 7:30 PM, on January 3, 2002, a few minutes after
the above sighting. The witness noticed four motionless sources
of light, flashing red, blue, and white. The one craft I could
see from my bedroom window, and I am looking at one as I type
this that is in the shape of a "+," but this may be due to the
window. At this time, which is now 9:02 PM, it still hasn't
moved from its spot. The other three remained motionless too,
but I cannot see hem now. I witnesses one ascending to above my
window's view, so I went outside, and it is still there. I can
see that both Saturn and Uranus are visible. Some would say
that these are planets. Well, there are two things wrong with
that. 1: there are four objects, not two. 2: What planets flash
blue and white, then occasionally red? They could be
helicopters. This town has only 26,000 people and the biggest
city in a 50 miles hasis only 100,000. Why woul! d four
helicopters hover over a small town not moving one inch in
three hours? Nothing of national importance is in this town.

WISCONSIN FLYING OBJECT

WATERFORD, RACINE COUNTY -- UFOWisconsin reports that the witness
who wishes to remain anonymous stated, "I was sitting out by the
farm areas with my son on January 5, 2002, just north of Wind Lake
and just south of Waterford. I was looking at the stars when I saw
something that was square shaped that stopped for about 30 seconds.
It then started moving slowly and disappeared. I would have thought
that I was seeing things, but my son who is 13 years old, pointed
it out to me. Note: We are trying to follow up with this witness.
We found it unusual that the object he saw in the sky was square
shaped. Thanks to jenny@ufowisconsin.com,

WISCONSIN LIGHTS

MARSHFIELD/PITTSVILLE -- UFOWisconsin witness reports, "My friend
and his son were coming home from Marshfield on January 9, 2002,
and when they arrived they had told me that they had seen a lot
of unidentifiable flashing lights in the sky and to go out on the
roof and look. Two adults and two teenagers witnessed these lights
from 7 to 7:45 PM. There were many small lights in the sky, each
object seemed to have three colors red, yellow, green. There was
no pattern to their travel. Some were moving very fast and then
would stop and change direction rapidly. Others would be moving
fast and then stop and the lights would dim very low. It was
nothing I have ever witnessed before. They were flying much too
close to be aircraft flying at different heights and speeds.

UFO HOVERS NEAR A BARN IN RICEVILLE, IOWA

      On Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at about 5 a.m.,
teenaged M.J. "was in my bedroom talking on the phone with
the lights out and my glasses off. I happened to glance
at the window and saw a large object with white, red and
maybe green lights sort of hovering over our hog barn. I
couldn't see it well since I wasn't wearing my glasses."

"I grabbed my glasses and put them on and ran to the
window. But by this time it (the UFO) was pretty far away
and I couldn't make out any details, but I'm fairly sure it
was round. It seemed (to come) pretty close to the house.
But there was no sound at all. Possibly it was saucer-
shaped."

"I didn't see it approach. I only saw it hovering. It
must have been pretty low and very close considering I even
saw it. I'm pretty much blind without my glasses. It also
must have moved very fast. I had turned away from my window
for just a second or two to grab my glasses, and when I
looked out the window. It looked to be several miles away."

Riceville (population 800) is in northern Iowa just
south of the Minnesota state line about 200 miles (320
kilometers) north-northeast of Des Moines, the state
capital. (Email Interview)

location:	Lake Benton, MN (on the lake)
date of event:	approx. 2002
time of event:	approx 1 am
event duration:	15 minutes
weather conditions:	sky was clear (you could clearly see stars), no wind, weather was
cool and calm
additional witnesses:	my husband and a friend
number of UFOs:	2 ?
shape:	do not know - looked like stars shiney, bright, white light but blinking
color:	bright white blinking (too far away - looked like stars
speed:	very very fast
sound:	none
size:	like i said, they were very far away, they looked like stars
lights:	they were blinking very fast NOT like airplane lights then when they would
stop moving - the blinking would stop
other details:	i was looking at the stars, noticed this"star" blinking very fast and
moving up, down, zig zag at very harsh angles, and then stop - the blinking stoped and
it was bright again, like another star. then i saw the other one...pretty far away from the
first. they did this for about 15 minutes, first alternating, then together. they were moving
so fast i lost track of them.
angle of observation:	90
how UFO left your view:	they weren't close to each other, so i was constantly back
and forth - when they started to BOTH move (instead of alternate) i couldn't keep track
movement:	very rapid and irratic, horizontal, vertical and zig zagging.
facing direction:	i'm not sure, were were in the middle of the lake - it was very dark
and very late
c1:	Lights only
c12:	Passed overhead
c18:	Stationary
your report:	My husband, a friend and myself were at my Uncle's fishing resort
right on Lake Benton, in Lake Benton, MN. We had decided to go out fishing, for most
of the evening, and finally started catching fish at about midnight. It's important for me
to tell you, we had NOT been drinking, using any sort of drugs (cold medicine etc.) or
had been in the sun all day. I was watching the stars (you can't see them in the city -
it's nice there) and I noticed one "star" blinking - very fast. Almost the speed of a strobe
light. There was nothing remarkable about the star, it was the same brightness as those
around it. I pointed it our to my friend and husband and they just said, oh it's a satellite.
Then, as we were all watching, it darted, straight down, and then to the left, up and then
to the right twice. Then it stopped moving and about 10 seconds later, the blinking
stopped (it was just bright like a normal star. I was still looking at it when my friend said,
"hey there's one over here" and from the opposite end of the boat (normal size fishing
canoe) I saw another one, which although I didn't see the starting position, seemed to
be mimicking the other's movement, it too stopped moving, and was bright. They
alternated doing this for approximately 15 minutes (different patterns everytime) - then
they started moving in tandem. They were so far away from each other, and i was
looking back and forth - that I lost track.
My husband and friends theory is that they were military helicopters or planes somewhere
in South Dakota (SD is only miles away) and because it was such a clear night - we were
seeing thier tail lights or something.
I'm not dismissing that at all - it just has always seemed sort of unsettling to me that we
saw that, and told no one but my Uncle about it. My Uncle seemed to agree with me, and
said there were occasionally weird lights that you could only see if you were far out on
the "point" (close to the middle of the lake).

Flying from west to east nearly straight up from my location. Three dots in a string
apearing to follow each other. Caught my Eye while I was watching a jet flying to
the south of my house. I stepped out on my porch to get a better look and said to
myself what the hell is that. Never seen anything like this before. The three dot
appeared to vear off course to the left slightly and the back on course due east.
Almost like three jets but much to high and fast. Faded in to the eastern sky
appearing to go straight out not curving down as with the curve of the earth. Slight
haze around the dots of light. appeared to be connected with an invisible string

WISCONSIN FLYING TRIANGLE SPOTTED

EAU CLAIRE -- On February 16, 2002, at about 9:00 PM, Jerry
was standing outside his place of work to take a break. Jerry
reports, "I looked to the south and noticed a very bright light
in the sky that I thought was Venus or another planet because
it was so bright." At that point another worker came outside,
and I asked him what he thought it might be? He thought it was
an airplane. Another worker came out and thought it was a
helicopter, because it started to move straight up, but there
was no noise. The light looked circular, and it had two lights
that flashed red on either side of it. When it moved closer,
the object changed from a circle to a triangle shape. The flashing
red lights were on either side of the points at the base of the
triangle, and they were flashing in unison. Then the triangle
started to rotate right, and it seemed to divide in half and become
two separate pieces. At about a 45 degree angle it came back
together, and reformed into a wedge shape that resembled an F-16
shape with swept wing. The red lights were at the tips of the
wing. At this point I realized that this was not the whole
object. A darker black object surrounded the bright light.
It was ringed by faint flashing white lights that gave it it's
shape which was very large, maybe two times as big as a commercial
airliner. The object approached, stopped, rotated clockwise
ninety degrees and headed southwest. This craft did not display
normal flying characteristics in the five minutes we observed it.

MINNESOTA BOOMS AND BRIGHT LIGHT OVER YARD

VESTABURG -- On February 20, 2002, the witness heard high pitched
sounds and saw a bright light that lit up her entire yard at 3:30 AM. The
witness says, "I was awakened by a loud noise that sounded like a base
drum going Baboom, Baboom, several times. This proceeded into a high
pitched sound that would change octaves for a long period of time. I
thought I was losing my mind so I got out of bed and went to look around
the house to see if I could find what it was and my three acre yard was lit
up like daytime. The high-pitched noise would start up, then stop for 30
seconds or so and start up again. My husband also heard these sounds
and our cat was going crazy. My brother lives three miles away and he
also heard it. I could not see any form of craft in the sky but there was a
very bright light shining down. Finally everything stopped. GOLDEN,
COLORADO -- The previous day similar strange noises were reported at
2:00 PM, but! no lights were seen.

WISCONSIN REPORT: MENOMONEE FALLS, WAUKESHA COUNTY

Allen T reports on February 27, 2002, the witness says, "My
daughter and I had just dropped off my son at a Boy Scout
meeting and turned onto Main Street in Menomonee Falls
heading east towards home at 6:55 PM. We both saw a brightly
lit object coming down at a rapid speed approximately at a
250 degree angle. It only lasted a few seconds and seemed
to disappear over Lake Michigan. We looked at each other
in disbelief. It looked like a flaming jet crashing, but it
was moving too fast. Makes you wonder?

IOWA UFO HOVERING NEAR INTERSTATE

DES MOINES -- I was driving off of exit 41 from Interstate I-80
on March 6, 2002, east the UFO was sitting back north of the
exit at 10:05 PM. The UFO gave off a pale gold light and
looked metallic, and had a clear bubble though the center top
to bottom. I could see lighting shaped symbols on the out
side of the craft. The UFO hovered 150 to 200 feet above the
ground; it had a slow gold blinking light. I kept driving
south toward Prairie Meadows Race Track and the object just
levitated in place.

CONE-SHAPED UFO SIGHTED IN GLENWOOD, IOWA

On Friday, March 15, 2002, at 8:30 p.m., the male
witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported, "I was
coming home from (nearby) Omaha, Nebraska on (Interstate
Highway) I-79 South when I first noticed a cone-shaped
object that was not moving across the sky like an airplane
or known aircraft. It was stationary. The color was a
pale neon blue. It looked as if it was a mile or 2 above
ground. I kept my eye on it as I was driving. Then I
pulled over and observed the thing for about 15 minutes."
The witness estimated that the cone-shaped UFO was
over Highway 34 approximately 3 miles (5 kilometers) west
of Glenwood, Iowa.
He added, "It looked as though it occasionally cast
some sort of light down under it. I get the feeling that
it was looking for something or perhaps taking photos.
The light that was being cast down was not as bright
as the object itself. It was rather faint in comparison."
"There is an Air Force base nearby, and one of the
bigger planes emerged from the southeastern sky. As the
plane got closer, the object seemed to fade in brightness.
And, just like a car backing up in reverse, the object
did until you could no longer see it."
"When the plane went by and was out of sight, back it
came and resumed whatever it was doing before."
"The thing moved at fantastic speed. It doesn't seem
like the object was playing hide-and-seek with the plane.
Also, I noticed I was not the only person who pulled over
to watch this thing."
The object was still over Glenwood when the witness
drove away. Glenwood (population 5,358) is on Iowa Highway 275,
about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Omaha, Nebraska.

UFO PUTS THE SPOTLIGHT ON SHEBOYGAN, WISCONSIN

On Friday, March 15, 2002, at midnight, the witness
reported, "I was outside at work for a break when I saw an
object at very low altitude traveling from south to north
over the city of Sheboygan," Wisconsin (population 50,792)
"I didn't think nothing of it, but I didn't hear a sound,
and there was a bright light in front that was shining on
the ground in a sweeping motion. It was around midnight,
and the light then disappeared."
"Then there were three large flashes of light to the
east of our building, and the power went out. I called
the (Sheboygan) police department, and they stated that
the power was out in a six-block area where I work."
The mysterious blackout "was more widespread to the
north of the city. They had no idea why the power was
interrupted."
"I then called the (Sheboygan County) Sheriff's
department, and the person there told me that a deputy had
spotted the object but could not identify it. The
Sheriff's department called the airports in Milwaukee,
Green Bay and Sheboygan County, and no one could say if
there was a plane in the area. The sheriff's official
also told me that they had received several (telephone)
calls about the same low-flying object."
Sheboygan is on the western shore of Lake Michigan,
located approximately 56 miles (89 kilometers) north of
Milwaukee. (Many thanks to John Hoppe of UFO Wisconsin

MICHIGAN "V" SHAPED OBJECTS FLY OVER HOME

GRAND RAPIDS -- On March 16, 2002, the witness reports, we were
talking in our room where the ceiling is made of glass, so we had a
could view of the night sky. "At 830 PM, we heard an incredibly loud
roaring/shrieking sound, that grew louder, as a "V" shaped craft, with
lights lining its border, zipped right over our house! The sound grew
quiet just in time for another one, followed soon after by another one.
The three UFOs flew over within one minute of each other. They all
were black, quick, and had dotted lights along the edges of their "V"
shape. We both felt the first one was an airplane, but by the time the
third one came around, it was obvious that these were UFOs. They
took only about 20 seconds to cross from east to west over the sky.

WISCONSIN HUGE DISC WITH LIGHTS

LYNDON STATION -- On April 6, 2002, Kim W. reports, "My son
came home about 10:30 PM and said there were strange lights
in the sky." My wife and I went out to look. The object
consisted of about eight large white lights formed in a large
circle. The entire circle was rotating clockwise slowly.
There was a 300 feet cloud ceiling. Whatever this was appeared
to be just above the clouds. The clouds gave the lights an
opaque effect and it seemed to throw light off in one part of
its rotation, kind of like a water sprinkler throws water, but
just in one spot. When holding my hand up in front of me, it
would have taken 6 hands to cover it. Quite large! It was in
the east of our location. It was stationary for maybe 10 minutes,
then began a slight movement to the southwest and disappeared in
the blink of an eye. Thanks to Kim W. and John Hoppe,

WISCONSIN SLOW MOVING ASTEROID

UFOWisconsin reports the witness was watching TV at about 10:30PM,
on April 8, 2002, with one of his friends. He says, "My TV is
next to a picture window so I can usually see a lot of the outside,
which turns out to help me later in my report. He states, "I was
getting up to go to bed and I saw something strange in the sky out
my window that looked like an asteroid, but a lot lower and moving
at a much slower pace." At first, I didn't think anything of it,
but when it didn't go away for about a minute, I kept watching.
It was headed to the east, towards the city. We quickly put on
our jackets and went outside to watch it. After another minute,
it stopped in mid air about 8 miles away and broke into two separate
parts, and disappeared. It was pretty weird. Submission by Stephen

A BIG WEEK FOR UFOs IN WISCONSIN

Last week saw three sightings of UFOs in different
regions of the USA's Midwestern state of Wisconsin.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2002, Stephen Bayer reports, "I
was watching TV at about 10:30 p.m. like I usually do on a
Tuesday night with one of my friends. My TV is next to a
picture window" at his home in Ripon, Wis. (population
6,828) a town on Highway 44 approximately 67 miles (110
kilometers) northwest of Milwaukee. "So I usually see a
lot of the outside."
"Anyway, I was getting up to go to bed, and I saw
something strange at my window. It was in the sky, and it
looked like an asteroid but a bit lower and moving at a
much slower pace. At first I didn't think anything of it,
but when it didn't go away for about a minute, I kept
watching."
"It was headed to the east, towards the city
(Milwaukee--J.T.) We quickly put on our jackets and went
outside to watch it. After another minute or two, it
stopped in mid-air. I'm guessing about eight miles (12
kilometers) away. It then broke into two separate parts
and then disappeared. We went back inside and decided to
tell people later, since it was pretty weird."

FLYING TRIANGLE MAKES AN APPEARANCE IN MICHIGAN

On Wednesday, April 10, 2002, J.P. "was sitting in my
living room on the second floor of my two-story house" in
Commerce Township, Michigan, and "I was looking out our
window, which is 10 by 15 feet (3 by 4.5 meters), and I
noticed lights in the eastern sky."
"The lights, five in total, were in a V-shape. I
have seen just about every kind of plane in the sky, but
this was no plane. The lights were set up on this craft
with two on each side and one in the center."
"The V was flying in the same manner as migratory
birds do. The object was flying roughly 150 to 200 feet
(45 to 60 meters) above the ground. There was no noise to
be heard. I had the window open. I couldn't make out a
structure (wings, cockpit--J.P.) even though the moon was
out. The object without any indication turned (suddenly)
as if on a lazy susan and started off towards the
southwest. The whole experience had only lasted about 90
seconds." (Email Form Report)

My other son (he is 9) and I were worried. They just pulled in the
driveway and were yelling "look at that," nervously, "it was
following us." They where scared. This was no plane or helicopter.
It was bright yellow and just above the trees moving very slowly
and hovering. It looked like a star but off color yellow. My son
ran to get the camcorder but with the lighting in town we couldn't
adjust it or see it in the view finder. We all agreed that it was
a UFO. It vibrated, pulsed, with little side to side movements.
Very weird, scary, We see a lot of weird lights around here. This
is where professional equipment would capture awesome video or
pictures. Thanks to John Hoppe, Director@ufowisconsin.com

Duration:1.5 hours
At 10 PM my wife observed a light in the southwestern sky that was odd because
it was moving erratically. I joined her on the deck and saw a red and green light that
were close together. I assumed it was an airplane, but it suddenly made a sharp
movement to the side, then an up and movement. Now the side to side movement
could resemble a very wide winged plane with the wing lights flashing alternatly.
But this didn't explain the up and down movement. Also the light stayed in the same
place, every so often jerking to one side or the other or up and down. I looked around
and observed an identical light in the western sky with the same movements. We
watched for about 1/2 hour and they stayed in the same position. My wife went to
bed and I continued to read. At a little after 11 PM I went out to check and the light
in the southwest was gone, but the western one was in the same position and still
jerking around. I got my binoculars, hoping to see more but the light just was sharper.
As I was watching two more of the same type lights appeared in the northwestern
sky. These acted the same but also blinked off and then on every so often. After
about another 1/2 hour these two lights suddenly moved at an extremely fast speed
toward the western light and when they neared it they disappeared. Now these two
lights seemed smaller or further away. When I went to bed an hour later the west
light was still there. I can think of no logical explanation. All the light were red and
green and seemed to be very close together.

WISCONSIN UFO'S DAYLIGHT RENDEZVOUS

MUSKEGO -- The witness reports that on April 13, 2002, my wife returned
from the grocery store. I went outside to sneak upon her. As I was
approaching her I looked up and saw several aircraft on approach to
Mitchell Airfield. Immediately upon fixing my eyes on those airplanes,
I saw a small circle shaped grayish colored object streak across the
sky in a westerly direction at 12:20 PM. I tried to get my wife to
see but she missed it. With my eyes fixed on this new object I walked
around the back of the cars to get a better look. This object was
flying in a straight line, and the only noise I heard was from the
airplane on approach. The UFO was smaller than either airplane and
was traveling quite fast without leaving a vapor trail. It suddenly
started to turn, but I didn't notice a banking movement as with the
airplanes. It started making counter clockwise circles in a very
small flight radius at high speed. Then a second object, third and
a forth appeared all flying in counter clockwise circles stacked over
the same airspace separated by altitude. The objects were going in
and out of view as if they were reflecting off the sun, and then not
and then reflecting again for five minutes when my eyes became strained
from the sunlight. So I went inside and got the camera but when I
went back outside they were gone. There were no news reports of any
unusual flying objects. The weather was sunny, unlimited visibility,
59 degrees F. Thanks to UFOWIsconsin.

WISCONSIN UFO FOLLOWS WITNESSES

HOLLISTER -- UFOWisconsin witness reports, "My parents came home about
8:15 PM and my Mom told me that my dad spotted something weird in the
sky on April 13, 2002. I ran outside and saw this light moving across
the sky from NE to SW. It was much larger than the stars that were out.
It moved across the sky until it fizzled out just before the tree line.
This lasted about 30 seconds to a minute.

THREE ORANGE UFOs SEEN IN JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN

      On Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at 8:50 p.m., in
Janesville, Wisconsin (population 59,498), Jonathan M.
reports, "It was cloudy but I could still see either the
moon or a bright star. I was trying to make out what it
was (the moon or a star--J.M.) As I was looking at it,
three orange lights came from the northeast. They were in
formation side by side. As they went overhead, they
zigzagged between each other and shot off to the southwest
in formation again (side by side--J.M.)."
"If you held a dime in your fingers, and held it at
arm's length, this would have been about the size" of the
objects. "They made no noise, and they were very fast.
They were not military jets."
"I want to know if anyone else saw that. Someone had
to because of the brightness and the size. I turned on
the (radio) scanner to see if there were any reports, but
no one here reported anything."
Janesville, Wis. is on Routes 11 and 14, located
about 40 miles (64 kilometers) southeast of Madison, the
state capital. (Many thanks to John Hoppe of UFO-Wisconsin
for this report.)
(Editor's Note: Janesville is well-known to Forteans for
its periodic unusual phenomena. In February 1892, a
frozen crocodile five-and-one-half feet (1.5 meters) long
was found on the banks of the Rock River near Janesville.

Sighting Date/Time: 4-19-02 1:55 a.m.
Sighting Location: Columbia Heights, Mn.

Sighting Description: While watching the northern light
display in my back yard, I saw what looked like a transparent
wing with subtle lights inside pass on a east to west course.
The outline was visible only from the light that seemed
tranferred through the medium of the structure. Say as if you
immersed some lights in a clear gelatin mass, some ambient
light would dimly illuminate the entire mass. The wing shape
was angled, although not strongly enough to be called a
triangle. It was completely silent, I had no way to estimate
size or distance. If we assume a size equal to a private
plane, then it was larger, lower and much faster. Traveling
a estimated thirty five or forty degrees of travel in no
more than three or four seconds before sighting was lost.
I have always been an aviation buff, father and brother
served in the air force. I have never seen anything close
to this, not even in science fiction. This spooked me bad
enough to go inside, check that the doors were locked. I
hunt bears, I don't spook easy.

May, 2002 Reports

WISCONSIN LOW FLYING TRIANGLE.
MOSINEE -- Two witnesses were driving down the road at
9:15 PM, on May 13, 2002, when they looked up and saw two
bright white lights above a field. The witness states, "As
we got closer, we saw there was a red flickering light in
the middle, so we pulled over and watched whatever it was
and it looked like it hovered." Then it took off back
toward town. I rolled down the window and listened and
it sounded somewhat like a lawn mower. We turned around
and followed it and drove about 55 or 60 mph and it was
speeding way ahead of us. We thought it might be a plane
because there was an airport (Central Wisconsin Airport)
that way but couldn't figure out why it was so low and why
it was going so fast. As we kept going, we saw it hovering
over a field again. We saw that it looked triangular and
somewhat flat. We pulled over and watched and it took off
once again and we saw yellow lights now. As we followed
it back the other way, it looked like it dipped and crossed
the road and hovered about 60 feet above a house. We caught
up again, pulled over and again it took off very fast and
looked like it landed in a field up ahead, but it was too
fast to see where it went or landed. Thanks to NUFORC.

MICHIGAN THREE LIGHTS ON THE REAR CREATING A TRIANGLE

HOLLAND -- I saw two very powerful lights at 10:45 PM, on
May 13, 2002, coming from what appeared to be the back of
some sort of craft. It was in the sky and maybe about 600
feet from the ground. The lights resembled a pair of very
bright car headlights. The craft was heading south and to
the west a little. I was driving at the time, heading south,
and was on a road with very little traffic, so I could speed
up and try to get closer to it. I sped up to try to get
closer and it appeared to be slowing down. I kept watching
it and when I became parallel to it I pulled over and turned
off my car. The lights were coming from the back of the
craft and there were no lights on the front. There was a
less bright light above the two, creating a triangle of three
lights. It was making some noise and the closest thing I
could compare the noise to was a high pitch radio frequency.
I watched it briefly and after about 60 seconds it slowed
almost to a stop. It began to go straight up and turn
directly around and went towards the north again. I tried
to follow it again and it quickly drifted to the west and I
no longer could see it. The witness says, "I have never
previously seen any objects I believe to be UFOs first hand.
I was not on any hallucinogens or drugs at the time of the
sighting and I am convinced that what I saw was definitely
real - I wasn't just imagining something.
NUFORC Note: Peter Davenport spoke with this witness at some
length, and we found him to be seemingly serious-minded and
credible.
Editor's Note: Multiple witnesses in two states appear to be
describing the same vehicle about one hour and thirty minutes
apart and 200 miles away across Lake Michigan. If the craft
flew a direct course it would have passed through two
restricted areas.

MINNESOTA LIGHTS
DULUTH -- The sighting lasted from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and
I saw it in Morgan Park, on May 24, 2002, during the entire
night there were two round lights that people might think
were stars facing west. They were four times their normal
size and much more active. I saw a little light fly into
one of the big lights. They seemed to be watching me as I
watched them.

Wayzata, MN sighting:
Yesterday 5/26/2002 at about 11:15 AM. while driving east
on Hwy 12 at Wayzata, I saw a bright shining saucer
between the Carlson towers, but when we got to the other
side of them it was gone. My boyfriend also saw it and we
searched the air all around and there were no airplanes
in our veiw and the object had vanished. We never saw it
go up and away, it seemed to be decending as if it were
landing. It was not a large saucer or did not seem to be
unless it was farther away then it seemed. From where we
were (car dealer) it was smaller then the peaks on the
buildings. We were wondering if anyone else had reported
seeing it.

June, 2002 Reports

Sighting Date/Time: june, 2002
Sighting Location: Frazee, MN
Around the farms of Silver/Murphy lake area, topography is unusual there, too many
sightings to report. One person said they saw a craft actually disappear into Silver
Lake and was glowing under the water. This man was nighttime fishing last summer.
Some say time seems to stop and everything is totally silent. Reports of strange
mirror like objects in forest.

Sighting Description:
I don't have the courage to give you my name, especially since I have a high profile
career, but down 505 St., Frazee, MN -Silver Lake/Murphy Lake area - The amount
of UFO activity is staggering. This place has got to be the UFO mecca of the US.
Freakish activity almost nightly.

In the summer time there's numerous sightings. Frighteningly aggressive aliens
reported by a few scared residents. Those in the know say "don't go messin around
down by Silver lake". Rumors of high ranking Gov. officials dressed up like D.N.R.
on the move. Many town folks either unaware or button lipped. Some of the Aliens
are nick named "old hags" because they reportedly appear to resemble old ugly
women, but have all the other classic characteristics. The sky activity at this
place must makes old area 51 look like a normal, happy place. As far as I know all
of this activity has started about a year ago. My family has roots in this area and
have all experienced sightings.

MICHIGAN RED FLYING TRIANGLE WITH SPARKS

BRIDGMAN -- Five friends were sitting around the fire on
June 1, 2002, thirty minutes after midnight talking and
looking for shooting stars. One witness states, "Out of
the corner of my eye in the southern sky, I saw a slow
moving light that was a little bigger than a shooting star
that changed color from red to orange to white in a matter
of seconds." It looked as though it was enflamed, and it
shot something out that looked like a spark." My friend
shouted out obscenities in disbelief when he saw it go
under a cloud and shoot out sparks two more times at about
a half second apart. Then it abruptly slowed down, then
sped up and suddenly disappeared. The object left a small
flaming tail but was too low in my opinion to be space
junk. The witness stated, "It was an almost perfect
flying triangle with rounded edges heading southeast that
lasted a few seconds. Thanks to Peter Davenport Director

MICHIGAN LIGHT FOLLOWS FAMILY

KALAMAZOO TO MUSKEGON -- On June 2,,2002, the witness reports,
"We were driving home and when got to Kalamazoo at 9:30 PM, I
noticed a UFO in the western sky with lights all over it.
Although it was pretty far up, the lights looked red, orange,
white and a bluish-green color. It looked like other small
craft were coming out of it or beams of light were shooting off.
It pretty much stayed with us for about two hours. As we neared
Muskegon it looked as though it was going towards Lake Michigan,
it got smaller and disappeared. The next night from my father's
house in North Muskegon, we spotted the same object near the
moon. My father said, "He had seen two of the same type 30
years ago. One of them shot a laser and hit the other one, and
then they both disappeared." The third night, the UFO just
twirled around and moved a little. Later, we saw four of them
through the telescope that had three circular things underneath
twirling clockwise, almost like balls of fire. On June 26, we
drove to Lake Michigan and saw two lights just over the water.

I saw an alien

I was sleeping out in the backyard with my sister when I woke up. I did not know
what woke me up so I looked at my watch. It said 3:00 exactly. I then noticed that
the side of the tent that faced the wetlands and lake was lit up. I would like to tell
everyone that it was no a light from a boat. The wetlands is inbetween my house
and lake and it is about 150 yards wide and there is no way a light could have been
that bright off a boat. I then saw what I truly believe to be a shadow of a torso and
arm of an alien. I watched it for about thirty seconds and saw the fingers move in
a manner that assured me that it was not a inatamate object being blown by the
wind. I became frightened and hid in my sleeping bag. I do not know how long they
were there but when I came out of my sleeping bag about an hour later the light
was gone and so was the Alien.

July, 2002 Reports

Mysterious Lights Make Appearance At UFO Daze
By Mary Ann Holley Sheboygan Press Staff 7-22-2

DUNDEE - Six glowing amber spheres lit up the night sky
Saturday above a forested area on the northern edge of
Long Lake, lending credence to the statement, "They're
out there."

More than 150 spectators watched as the lights moved
methodically across the sky, then hovered in a formation
over the northern edge of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.

One flashed from a bright yellow to a clear white. Then
a second sphere flashed. The unknown lights were a
surprise, but not entirely unexpected for those who had
gathered there for UFO Daze, an event held each July for
the past 12 years.

"If it's a hoax, it's a good one," said Bill Benson,
owner of Benson's Holiday Hideaway, a small country
tavern on the northern point of Long Lake. "If someone's
jerking our chain, they're doing a good job."

Inside the tavern, where Out of this World pizza, Alien
Extras and Martian pick-me-ups are on the menu, a 3-inch
scrapbook sits on the bar, filled with hundreds of
photographs of UFO sightings from the area.

"We call this UFO headquarters because there are so many
sightings," Benson said.

In May 1985 after a night of soupy fog blanketed the area,
a crop circle was formed in marsh grass just outside the
tavern. The event was documented on a national television
show, Benson said.

"A neighbor lady lost all the water in her well that night,"
Benson recalled. "It later came back, but never ran as well
as it did before."

In 1989, a neighbor tried to chase the cows out of his
barn, but the cows would run back in, Benson said. A UFO
was seen hovering east and south of the barn. Another
neighbor verified the incident, Benson said. In 1999, four
fighter jets were seen chasing a light over the lake. Photos
were taken by a local resident.

"I don't know why they pick this place," Benson said.
"People say the magnetic energies in the earth here are
very high. Maybe that's the reason. One of our town board
members saw the same fighter jets."

UFO Daze guests spent the day hearing presentations by those
who had encountered UFOs on various occasions and those who
claimed to have regular contact with extraterrestrial beings.

Bonnie Meyer of Neenah, a presenter at the event, claimed
she has had alien contacts since 1976 when a craft came
down over the road as she was driving.

"I was camping in New London over the Fourth of July with
my husband, friends and family," Meyer said. "A ladder
dropped down and an alien in a silver suit waved me over.
At first I wasn't going to go, but I figured I'd never have
that chance again."

Since then, Meyer said, there have been steady contacts
varying from once a week to once a month. They come down
and she goes with them, she said.

She said her neighbors don't notice because the ship puts
up a force-field, a device, the aliens explained, that
prevents others from seeing them.

"They said they're here because we're not kind to our
planet," Meyer said. "I've met about 16 different alien
varieties, from those who look like the Pillsbury Doughboy
to ones that look like a blue Big Bird. They've always
been friendly and kind. They said they'd like us to speak
out more." Heathermarie Podulke of Sheboygan said she saw
UFOs during last year's UFO Daze.

"It changed my life and changed my world," Podulke said.
"It reminded me more of my soul's intention and purpose,
that my soul comes from extraterrestrial origins. It
jarred my memories."

Ken Keen of Milwaukee attended UFO Daze for the past two
years. He said he blew off work to be there.

"Absolutely, I believe," said Keen. "It seems like common
sense to me. The universe is very large. I'm into the Bible.
Who knows? What we see might be God. It's a science and
spiritual thing for me."

Rich Beringer of Dundee, a regular at the tavern, said he
takes the UFO talk in stride.

"I live here. I was here when the marsh grass was packed
down," Beringer said. "A couple of girls came in screaming.
They were scared crapless. I don't know if I'm into it, but
I've seen some weird things around here."

Reporter Not Sure What To Think
By Mary Ann Holley Sheboygan Press Staff 7-23-2

In the skewed words of Richard M. Nixon, "I am not a kook."

Saturday, after packing my skepticism in my back pocket,
I covered UFO Daze anticipating far-fetched stories and
tales of extraterrestrial beings.

But after arriving at the old country bar on the edge of
Long Lake and seeing firsthand the amazing spheres of light
hovering high over the hillsides, I began to think anything
is possible.

What were the strange amber lights that so methodically
made their appearance, lights that seemed to come by
invitation to a waiting crowd pumped up by stories of
UFOs and alien beings?

As one observer said: If it was a hoax, it was a good one.

Fireworks don't hover for 15 minutes. Planes and
helicopters make noise. The lights were too high and too
sporadic to be part of the old lanterns-on-a-clothesline
theory.

I've always had an eye for the unusual and appreciate a
good story, but when I see things that have no real
explanation, it's a strange twist. I attended the event
with an editor and a former editor of The Press -which
should verify my sanity. They, too, saw the glowing lights.

After the sighting, one woman was weakened by the experience.
Another sobbed for more than an hour, lamenting that the
UFOs had come for her. Another said she was having a
flashback from an earlier abduction.

Most of all, everyone questioned who, what, where and why -
the basics of good journalism.

But there were no answers.

These were people of all ages and all walks of life -
Sharon Moilanen of Sheboygan Falls, an employee at the
Kohler Police Department, writers of books and Heather
O'Grady of Sheboygan, a certified massage therapist.

John Hoppe of Sheboygan, director of UFO Wisconsin,
investigated the incident, taking off in his car to try
to find the source of the lights. He, too, questioned the
incident, but too had no definitive answers.

Sgt. Nick Evans of the Fond du Lac Sheriff's Department
said there were no reports of strange lights Saturday night.

What's your theory? Do you think there are extraterrestrial
beings flying in our night skies? Are they living among us?
Are there people with such skill and money to pull off such
an amazing prank? Just what were the six strange lights in
the sky?

THREE UFOs SIGHTED OVER MADISON, WISCONSIN

     On Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at 10:30 p.m., the
eyewitness reported, "I caught a brief glimpse of three
bright yellow-orange lights in a perfectly triangular
formation--fairly close together--streaking from north to
south across the sky" over Madison (population 208,054),
the state capital of Wisconsin.
"It took, in my estimation, less than two seconds
for these lights to move across the entire length of the
sky. My first thought is that it was a shooting star. I
dismissed this idea because there were those three lights
moving in a perfect triangular formation."
"It continued to cross the sky. About ten minutes
later, I saw the exact same formation of triangular
lights streak across the sky at what seemed like the same
speed, moving in essentially the same direction." (Many
thanks to John Hoppe of UFO Wisconsin for this report.)

LUMINOUS UFO HOVERS OVER BAYFIELD, WISCONSIN

On Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at around 3:30 a.m., Alan
A. reported, "It was a clear night, the stars were
bright, and there was no wind. I had just got home" to
Bayfield, Wisconsin (population 611), a small town on
Chequamegon Bay on the south shore of Lake Superior.
"I live some miles from town, and my driveway is
somewhat long. I was driving up my driveway and, as I
always do, I looked up to see how many stars there was.
I know a little about stars, so I thought it might be
Jupiter...but this time of year, that didn't seem right.
It was east, somewhat low in the sky. I had to take my
eyes off it to see where I was going. I parked my truck
and got out and went in the backyard to see my dog. I
looked up another time, and it was not there."
"I looked down for a second and looked back up, and
there it was. It was really bright and closer than it
was the first time. It was not moving, and there was no
noise. I can say it was about 75 yards (65 meters) away,
and about 50 yards (45 meters) above the trees. The
light was white. At first I thought it might be a light
from a helicopter, but it was not making any noise, and
it was not moving."
"Then, what happened next really stunned me. A
second light came on right next to the other one. It was
also white but a little bit brighter. I was looking
right at it with amazement when, all of a sudden, it went

if I could see a shape or something, but I didn't see
anything. I stayed out for an hour looking but nothing
happened. So I gave up."

(Editor's Comment: Bayfield is 13 miles (20 kilometers)
northeast of Ashland, the "UFO capital" of Wisconsin.
Chequamegon Bay and the towns around it, Ashland,
Bayfield, Washburn, Red Cliff and Odanah, have reported
UFO sightings since 1947. There is a persistent local
legend that claims the existence of an underwater UFO
base out there in the bay.)

WISCONSIN TWO BRIGHT LIGHTS

BAYFIELD, MASON COUNTY -- Alan A. reports that on July 2,
2002, there was a dog barking a few miles away on a clear
night at 3:32 AM. I was driving up the long driveway and
to the north one star seemed to be brighter then the others.
I know a little about stars, so I thought that it might be
Jupiter, even though it looked too low in the sky. I
parked my truck and looked up another time, and it was
not there, I looked down for a second and looked back up
and there it was. It was really bright and much closer
than it was the first time. It was not moving, but it was
now about 75 yards away, and 50 yards above the tree's.
The light was white, at first I thought it might be a light
from a helicopter, but it was not making any noise, and it
was not moving. Then a second brighter light came on right
next to the other one. I was amazed when all of a sudden
it went out.

IOWA TEN UFOs FLY OVER

COUNCIL BLUFF -- A copier technician and friend on July 6,
2002, reports seeing ten or more UFOs flying above he
backyard deck on Hartman Street from 10:16 to 10:30 PM. The
UFOs were flying west and almost looked like they were going
to run into each other but did not. The craft were at high
altitude an estimated 30,000 feet. There was a commercial
jet aircraft with flashing lights, but it did not seem to
notice the UFO lights. The UFOs moved at a very fast pace
in a straight line between each other. They look like very
bright lights, that looks like a star moving across the sky.
They had the brightness of an on coming train. Just picture
a train coming down the track at night. Thanks to Stefan

Date: July 8, 2002 around Midnight
Location: Duluth, Minnesota
Source: UFO Wisconsin sighting report - witness requested to remain anonymous

I was visiting my dad in Duluth for a week in July of 2002. It gets kind of
boring up there sometimes so that night, I asked my stepsister if I could go
with her and her friends for the night. She told me that they were just going to
look for a place to make a campfire, so we grabbed marshmallows and left. Her
and I got into a car with three other girls. We passed through Gary New Duluth,
and then we passed the road leading to the Oliver Bridge. We turned the corner
that was on the St. Louis River and pulled over to the left side of the road
(which was facing the river). My sister was in the back seat, to the right of
me, her window facing the water. We were parked on the outlook. We sat there for
about maybe three minutes, pointing our flashlights down the hill, looking for
trails. We spotted one, and one of the girls got out of the car to check it out
further. She walked probably 25 feet away from the car and her flashlight died,
so she came running back to the car, scared. We talked about just going home but
my sister didn't want to, saying, "We just got here, there's no point in leaving
so soon!" So we sat there for a little while, talking. A few minutes later, the
conversation died and I glanced at the time, which was 11:58. My sister was
looking out the window and suddenly she said, "Look! On the water!" So I looked
out the window and I saw a very bright white light, hovering over the water. I
couldn't stop looking at it, and it appeared to start moving towards us very
slowly. I thought I was imagining it moving, but all the other girls gasped and
said, "Look! IT's moving!!!" So I turned toward the driver and said, "Let's go
now, let's go NOW!" And she looked frozen or something, looking out the
windshield and I moved forward and looked out the windshield and I saw an
identical light hovering over the trees. And then, one of us noticed ANOTHER
light on the other side of the car (the side opposite the river) also hovering
over trees. At this point, we were all really freaked out so the driver turned
around to back up and noticed ANOTHER light over the trees behind us. She kept
backing up to turn around and all the lights grew brighter. The light on the
lake shot forwards towards us, followed by the rest of the "lights" (I don't
know in what order). We pulled out onto the road and headed back into Gary New
Duluth. We passed the road to the Oliver bridge and to my surprise and horror,
three of the four lights were on the right and left and back sides of the car.
They were pretty large balls of light, I'd say the size of a small car. They
were about four feet above the trees and houses and about fifty feet in from the
road. They were shaped like a triangle, we could just make out the outline. We
started panicking when the lights suddenly sped up and moved in front of the
car. We pulled onto a side street and looked behind us. We were now in downtown
Duluth. To make a long story shorter, we drove as far up as skyline, and we
finally stopped driving because we were running out of gas. We pulled onto the
Skyline Parkway and the "lights" moved out on top of the harbor in the middle of
the night sky, and started moving towards the direction of Gary New Duluth
again, and then shot in the opposite direction very fast and about five seconds
later, we couldn't see them anymore. It was as if the lights knew we were
looking at them and chased us until we were too tired to play their game
anymore. Since then, I have never seen anything like that again. I was never a
believer in UFO's or anything of the sort but because of that strange...thing
that happened to me and my sister and three friends, I am now. And the more
bizarre thing is, there is no military aircraft testing sites around this
area....AND, I have talked to five different people in the past year that live
on the St. Louis river that have seen similar lights. A woman that lives in
Oliver on the St. Louis river, 57 years old, said that a few times every year
she sees a light hovering over the water. I have ruled out the possibility of a
boat light, because the lights we saw were much larger than a boat's light, and
pulsated as they moved closer to us.

On Sunday, July 14, 2002, just after 4 a.m., a woman
eyewitness in Ashland, Wisconsin (population 8,620)
reported, "I had just logged off the Internet, went to
the bathroom and got a snack. Then I fed my cat, got my
nightgown on and then went to bed. I got just about all
nestled in when a big flash of light came through the
window, and weird noises began, and the whole house
shook."
"The lights kept turning on and off--the TV kept
turning on and off also. It would get very dark, and
then bright flashing lights would appear."
"I could not move. It was like I was frozen. I'm
still shaking. I cannot get it out of my mind. I was
not dreaming this. I swear--it really happened."
(Editor's Note: Ashland is sometimes considered "the UFO
capital of Wisconsin.")

WISCONSIN UFO SIGHTINGS CONTINUE

MILWAUKEE -- Bruce S says, "I was at a cookout at my friends
house on July 14, 2002, and we were helping my buddies daughter
track down jets in the sky. At around 5:45 P.M. (it was sunny
and clear) my cousin saw a jet and pointed it out to the child.
He then stated to me, " What's that next to the jet?" I looked
and I figured it was Venus or a new supernova or something. We
argued back and forth whether or not the thing was moving, and
eventually it started to move. I kept track of it for 2-3 min.
and watched it slowly fade away. Now I know well enough that you
cannot see "normal" stars in clear daylight, I know what a plane
looks like and it definitely was no bird. There were 3 other
witnesses also. The object looked like a normal white star, with
no pulsing. It's distance was very, very high. It's motion was
very slow, with a slow fade. Thanks to UFOWisconsin

DUNDEE -- Danny N. reports, "I was on the public fishing
pier at the Long Lake Campground on July 14, 2002, and
observed a large sphere with green, blue and possibly red
lights spaced evenly on it at 4:00 AM. It was high in the
sky and moved slowly to the east. I could see several white
blinking lights, although they were faded in color and they
were some distance away from me. I had a nibble on my rod
so I tended to that and when I looked up that object was
gone but there was another object moving in the same
direction. It was triangular in shape and had lights in rows
of 1,3,5,7 in red, orange, and yellow colors. It was high
in the sky and it also moved slowly to the east. Thanks to

SAUCER WITH LIGHTS VISITS PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA

On Wednesday, July 17, 2002, the female witness,
A.A., reported "a sighting of 12 lights forming a perfect
circle, hovering at approximately 20,000 feet (6,000
meters). First sighted at 10:30 p.m. Central time. All
12 lights appeared to move together, then back to the
position where we first spotted them. They approached
from the south," moving into hover position over Prior
Lake, Minnesota (population 15,917), a town on Highway 13
about 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Minneapolis.
"They were circular lights, the size of the moon,
evenly spread in a perfect circle, all moving together.
Appeared not to be joined, although they moved together
in perfect unison. Very slow-moving." (Email Form

August, 2002 Reports

On Sunday, August 4, 2002, at 10:36 p.m., in Three
Lakes, Wisconsin, 25 miles (40 kilometers) northeast of
Rhinelander, the male witness reported, "I was on
vacation with my family at three cabins by the lake. My
uncle and I made a fire. When we finished the fire, we
sat out on the pier and looked at the sky for a satellite
that we see every year up there."
"Then, suddenly, we saw a whitish-color, circle-
shaped object heading south from the north (Michigan's
Upper Peninsula--J.T.) It had no sound or wings or a
tail like a comet or an asteroid. But it was weird

because the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis--J.T.)
appeared, but the shape wasn't the Northern Lights
because it didn't change color (like the aurora--J.T.) or
move (undulate--J.T.) like the Northern Lights. It was
moving about 70 miles per hour (112 kilometers per hour).
That's why we saw it for ten seconds."
(Editor's Comment: The description of the auroral effect
is interesting. Did the witnesses see a UFO actually
coming out of hyperspace?)

UFOs REPORTED IN THREE COUNTIES OF WISCONSIN

On Monday, August 5, 2002, at 10:40 p.m., Scott T.
was in Mount Pleasant, a suburb of Racine, Wisconsin, and
"I was driving north on Highway 31 about a half-mile from
Highway 11. I happened to notice something out of the
corner of my eye. When I looked, I could see the object.
It was just over the treeline and the size of a quarter
(USA 25-cent coin--J.T.) and very bright white. It was
about 5 miles (8 kilometers) from me in the sky, maybe a
little closer."
"It was hovering there for a few seconds, and then
it turned on its axis, and it seemed to stretch out to
about the size of my fist. I could kind of make out four
lights that were very close together, but the light was
too bright to really tell. Then some trees blocked my
view for ten seconds and, since I was heading north, I
figured I would see it when the trees were out of my
way." However, "it had vanished at the stoplight at the
intersection of (Highways) 31 and 11. I searched the
sky, but I never saw it again." (For the Ashland
sighting, see the Duluth, Minn. News-Tribune for August
9, 2002, "UFOs still in Northland?" page 1B. For the
Three Lakes and Racine sightings, many thanks to John

Strobing Satellites ?

Watching the sky on the shore of Northern Lake Superior for auroras & satellites
early Monday morning. Saw an early (just after sunset) bright satellite/iss…very nice.
Also saw several shooting stars…very nice. As the night wore on and into the early
hours of the morning, I saw a number of satellites/orbital objects. Characteristics:
very very dim, some fading in and out. One object in particular caught my attention.
A very dim satellite/object moving near the zenith (top) of my field of view, slowly
dimming even more, then suddenly, a relatively weak strobe (bluish light, same color
as object), followed several seconds later by a very very bright strobe (astoundingly
bright), followed by perhaps another several strobes of various intervals/intensities.
Object faded, and was very dim to begin with.

I have seen beautiful satellites before which are apparently tumbling and reflecting
the light back to me in the proper manner to give me a “light house” effect…that is a
rare treat. But a strobing satellite ? Do some satellites come equipped w/ strobes?
My thinking is a military spy satellite with a given wavelength HID strobe where a
high gain can be applied to that wavelength to amplify the illuminated image relatively
free of noise. Another theory is just an ordinary function of satellites so a ground
observer can do a quick and easy visual check to verify proper functioning of the
satellite (in other words, just another cheap easy, fail safe check…why not). My
final theory is that it may be part of a function to freak out paranoid terrorists (and I
DO HOPE it freaks them out!). Any thoughts? This is the second time I have seen
this sort of thing. The first one I ever saw was just a bit after 9-11-01, and was
observed over St. Paul, MN. Looked like a satellite, and then one HUGE strobe flash
(brighter than the one I saw over the lake). These objects all looked like satellites to
me. Very dim, moving, tiny tiny stars, very difficult to see and follow.
((NUFORC Note: We believe the first possibility to be ruled out would be tumbling
boosters and space debris, which reflects sunlight in a pulsating fashion. Just a
guess. PD))

kids were asleep and the sky was clear. No more than 5 mins. had gone by
when from over the house, just above the tree tops three white, brite
lights forming a narrow triangle flew above my head. I could see no body
attached to them. They were pointed straight ahead like car lights. If
there would have been a craft attached to the lights I would have been
able to see it. After all, it was so low to the ground if I would have
had a rock I would have been able to hit it easily. They flew straight
accross the field and over the tree line. The speed was to slow for an
airplane, but fast enough where their should have been some wind sound,
there wasn't even sound from an engine. I watched it most of the way
accross the field. My wife and sister could not have made it out in time
to see. ((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. PD))

MICHIGAN HOVERING DISK

BELLEVILLE -- The witnesses went outside to watch a meteor
shower on August 11, 2002, at 5:00 AM. The witness reports,
"I was watching the meteors when I noticed a strange object
in the sky off to my right that was just hovering there and
was dark in color." After sitting outside for a while, I
noticed it was still hovering unlike the meteors and stars
that were moving. I got up from my seat and started staring
at it and I realized it was metallic in color. It was kind
of low to the ground and just hovering with a dome on top
of it. Then I decided to walk closer to get a better look
and when I got closer, it just took off and disappeared
into the night sky. This kind of gave me the chills and
scared me so I went in the house. This object made a
humming noise of some sort. Thanks to Peter Davenport NUFORC

We saw two balls of light aimed at each other and after they passed each other
one dissappeared, the other stayed and changed colors.

As me and my boyfriend were driving down the road we spotted two balls of light in the
Southwest sky. We decided to follow it and came to a clearing, when we got to this
spot they were both now in the Southeast sky. We continued to watch them and all the
sudden they just started moving towards each other almost like they were going to collide
with one another. They got so close to each other that we could only see one ball of light
as they were passing each other. After they had passed each other, the one moving to
the left all the sudden just dissappeared, it was there and then it started moving fast and
then gone. The one moving the other way kept moving and all the sudden just stopped.
It seemed as though it was circling a specific area and while it was doing this it would
lift up and then drop and then move left or right. When we could just see the one it was
changing colors from red to white to an almost glowing blue/green and it looked like it
was spinning. We watched it for about 15-20 minutes and it just stayed in the same
spot not moving anywhere, just lifing, decending, moving right/left and changing colors.
We could not believe what we were seeing as we had never seen anything like it before.
It couldn't have been a plane because planes do not look like they are going to collide
and planes don't stay one spot for this long. We were in awe.

Triangle shaped object traveling east to west approximately 45 degrees above northern horizon.
While observing an unusually strong display of aurora borealis I noticed an object traveling
from east to west approximately 45 degrees above the northern horizon. This object traveled
across approximately 90 degrees of visible sky before I lost it behind ground clutter. The best
description I can give would be a plastic coat hanger with the hook at the top removed, leaving
a flattened triangle with rounded corners. It appeared to be either clear like acrylic with many
small lights inside, or perhaps a light gray that matched the background sky color with a highly
reflective surface in which case the many small lights may have been reflections of ground
lights. I have been an aviation buff for most of my life and this was no aircraft I have ever
seen. While the shape was reminiscient of a hanglider there was no "swooping motion" typical
of "kites". Since there was no sound it couldn't have been an ultralight either, they use very
noisy small engines and this was silent. The movement was straight and level so must have
been powered flight. the size at arm length appeared to be about three inches wingtip to
wingtip and about one inch nose to tail. While I can't say the exact distance from me I have
the impression this was about the size of a small private aircraft which would give it an
altitude of a few hundred feet, certainly low enough to hear engines or see someone hanging
below a hanglider. Speed would be hard to estimate, but it only took five or six seconds to
cross my line of sight, much faster than any private plane.
((NUFORC Note: Date is approximate. Satellites generally do not have a westerly component
to their orbit, and they do not move across the sky as dramatically rapidly as the witness

150kts. Appeared to be about 1500 feet AGL. Made no sound, though it appeared close
enough to be audible if it had jet enines. Left no contrails. Observed maintaining straight
and level course for about 5 seconds, then rolled right to a 45 degree angle which
caused the downward lights to shine brighter, as they were directed more towards the
observer. After 1 second, object then rolled left back to a straight and level position.
Object never appeared to change course or altitude during this rolling activity. Lost track
of object due to distance and the horizon. Event took place near the intersection of
Highway 13 and County Road 42 in Savage, MN while facing westward, and up at about
a 30 degree angle. Background was a dark sky with a few visible stars, including Orion
in the east. Highway 13 was illuminated, but obscured by a small hill in front of the
observer. Slight glow seen over the crest of the hill from these lights, as well as the
columns of light from Lake to the west. Object was just west of Highway 13, but certainly
east of Lake, as it was observed passing in front of the beams of light from the casino.
Observer is a pilot and is familliar with the air traffic around Minneapolis International
Airport, about 20 miles to the northeast. This object did not conform to any recognizable
aircraft lighting or flight patterns around MSP. No navigational lighting, beacon, or landing
lights were observed. Object could not have been part of the air traffic pattern from MSP,
as it was far too low. Also, the sudden rolling activity seemed very uncharacteristic for
commercial aircraft. Lack of sound and contrails is very curious.

MINNESOTA PILOT OBSERVES DELTA-SHAPED UFO

SAVAGE -- MUFON's Bill McNeff reports, "A pilot observed a
delta-shaped object in clear skies on October 14, 2002, flying
south at 1:22 AM". The object had three soft white lights at its
vertices which shone downward. It was about forty feet in width
flying at about 1500 feet altitude and at 150 knots. The pilot
stated, "It flew straight and level for about five seconds, then
rolled right to a 45 degree angle which caused the downward
lights to shine brighter, as they were directed more toward me -
- the object then rolled left back to a straight and level
position without making a sound." The object never appeared to
change course or altitude during this rolling activity and was
lost on the horizon. The object was observed passing in front of
the beams of light from the Mystic Lake Casino. The observer is
familiar with the air traffic around Minneapolis International
Airport, about 20 miles to the northeast. This object did not
conform to any recognizable aircraft navigational lighting or
flight patterns. The sudden rolling activity and lack of sound
is very uncharacteristic for commercial aircraft. Thanks to Bill

Sighting Date/Time: 10-16-2002 7:09PM
Sighting Location: Junction of I-94 and county 55

Sighting Description: Traveling east on I-94 I looked up at
the moon. It was at approximately 30' above the horizon, and
3/4 full. To the immediate right of the moon I saw what I
thought was a planet. A few seconds later, I noticed it was
descending. It was obscured by a small cloud for about 12
seconds. When it reappeared it was apparent it was also moving
slightly to the left. By time it was half way between the moon
and the horizon it had traversed to the left side of the moon.
It continued down until it dissapeared below the horizon. The
whole thing only took less than two minutes. The light never
blinked. No plane or fuselage of any kind could be seen. Only
the steady, white light.

Any information as to what I saw, would be appreciated. I would
also like to know if anyone else saw it.

Dimly lit Boomerang shaped object in St. Cloud, Minnesota
I was bringing the trash to the curb, when I noticed an object hovering above.. kind of
like a boomerang shaped object, dimly lit.. I could just barely make out the outline
against the night sky. In the center was a dimly lit round red window or light.. the object
appeared to be a couple hundred feet high; perhaps 70-100 feet from tip to tip; while
hovering the object made a slight circular motion. The circles became larger in
diameter; it then made a spiraling maneuver and sped off like a bullet to the south
over the trees in the woods behind my house. (I live on a wooded 1-acre lot in a semi-
metropolitan area). This whole time, the object made no sound.

FOLLOWED IN VEHICLE BY A BRIGHT LIGHT RESEMBLING A STAR
DRIVING ALONG STATE HWY 35W COMING HOME TO COON RAPIDS FROM
HINKLEY MINNESOTA, THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE NOTICED TO THE EAST A
BRIGHT LOW HANGING LIGHT. IT WAS A BRIGHT LIGHT, LOOKED LIKE A STAR AT
FIRST. IT WAS TOO CLOSE TO BE A STAR. IT PROCEEDED TO COME CLOSER
TO THE HIGHWAY. WE THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS AN AIRPLANE. BEFORE EXITING
OFF TO HIGHWAY 10, WE SUPSPECTED IT WAS NIETHER AN AIRPLANE OR A
HELICOPTER. IT ZIG-ZAGED, AND WENT FROM BEING VERY CLOSE TO US, TO
LOOKING LIKE A DISTANT STAR WITHIN SECONDS, THEN CLOSE AGAIN. WHEN
WE GOT ONTO HIGHWAY 10 GOING WEST, IT LOOKED AS IF IT WAS GOING TO
KEEP GOING IN THE SAME DIRECTION, THEN QUICKLY TURNED AND WAS
FOLLOWING US FROM BEHIND. WE HAD EVEN IN FACT, PASSED A SMALL
AIRPORT, ON HIGHWAY 10, WHICH WE THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD LAND, BUT IT
KEPT FOLLOWING OUR VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO BLINKING RED OR BLUE
LIGHTS, THAT WOULD INDICATE A FAMILIAR AIR CRAFT. WHEN WE GOT TO
STREET EXIT, HANSON BLVD., WE PULLED OVER IN A VACANT PARKING LOT.
WE OBSERVED THE U.F.O. HOVERING TO THE EAST, STAYING AS A BIG BRIGHT
LIGHT TO JUST A SPEC IN THE GALAXY. WHEN DRIVER PROCEEDED TO DROP
ME OFF AT MY HOME, AS SOON AS I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE, THE LIGHT GOT
SMALLER AND SMALLER, UNTIL IT DISAPPEARED. I WENT INTO THE HOUSE
JUST FOR A MOMENT, THEN CAME BACK OUT, I SAW THE SPEC IN THE SKY.
THE DRIVER THEN PROCEEDED TO HER RESIDENCE, NOT SEEING IT THE
ENTIRE WAY HOME, UNTIL SHE PULLED DOWN HER STREET, WHICH IS ABOUT
15 MINUTES NORTH TO ANDOVER, WHERE SHE SAW THE LIGHT BEHIND HER
HOUSE. IT WAS BIG, BRIGHT, AND HANGING LOW. IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS
SHAPED LIKE AN ARROW HEAD ALMOST FROM THE LIGHT.

Large, black, foil / wing flying low over field near highway in dayimte.

My fiancee and I were driving north on highway 94 north of Rogers, and south of
St. Cloud, when I looked to the west (my left) and noticed something gliding over a
nearby field. My fiancee was driving, and I was a passenger in the backseat with her
elderly grandmother in the front. I told her to take a look, but since she was driving,
ahe only caught a short glimpse of the object. Her grandmother was unfortunately
unable to turn and look at it. My fiancee told me she had seen it, and asked if I could
tell what it was, to which I replied, "not sure, but it doesn't look like any kind of plane
I've ever seen." As she continued to drive, the object was hovering slightly above the
field at about 20 feet or so, then began to "sprint" in the same direction as our car
was traveling (north). It quickly caught up to our speed (about 75 mph.), and then
rose up to about 200 feet or so and stalled, then dropped to about 20 feet again,
turned 180 degrees and took off in the opposite direction (south). Once more it
stopped, hovered for 2-3 seconds, then turned once more and took off at a fast pace.
Finally, we were to far down the highway to see anymore.

I am not an aviator or engineer of any kind, but from my distance (about 200-250
yards away), it appeared to be approximately 20-25 feet from "wingtip" to "wingtip",
and was about 4-5 feet wide in the middle. It was all black with no visible lights, and
was in the shape of an air-foil or kinda folded wing; like an upside down, elongated
U. It appeared to have no external propeller or engine, and no "cockpit" or apparent
area for a passenger. I saw no people anywhere nearby in the field to make me think
it was some sort of radio-controlled airplane; if it was, it was the largest radio
controlled object I have ever seen! It was broad daylight at about 10:30 am with partly
cloudy skies, and a slight wind from the west.

I have included a map showing the approximate area we were, the direction we
were traveling, the direstion(s) the object was traveling, and an illustration of what I
saw. I hope this information is helpful, and I hope someone else saw what I saw.

MINNESOTA SPHERES

ST. PAUL -- Bill McNeff MN MUFON SD writes at, "About 200 AM on the
morning of December 30, 2002, an independent truck contractor was
heading west on I-94 around 47 miles east of St. Paul. Something
made him look to the south and he saw an unidentified object at
about 45 degrees elevation heading northwest. It appeared to pass
between two airplanes. He said he felt energy coming from this
object and received a message that he "should report this and that
two other people had also seen it". It was not as bright as a star
but was in the shape of two spheres pressed together to form a
rough egg shape. The object glowed white with a little blue. It
rose about 30 degrees before he lost sight of it in the northwest.
It was about the size of a muzzleloader ball at arm's length. He
left a message at CUFOS and Mark Rodeghier notified us.
